Comprehensive Dental Exams
Know exactly where you stand.
A thorough exam catches problems early, when treatment is smaller, simpler and less expensive.

What is comprehensive dental exam?
A comprehensive exam evaluates your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints and oral tissues, with X-rays and intraoral photos. It establishes a baseline and identifies decay, gum disease, cracks and other issues. You see what we see. Its main limitation: it identifies problems but doesn't treat them on its own.
Who is a candidate?
Often a good fit
- New patients
- Anyone overdue for a checkup
- People with new symptoms
- Those wanting a second opinion
Needs extra care or planning
- Pregnancy (X-rays limited)
- Severe anxiety (comfort options available)
- Recent radiation
When an exam is needed: This is the exam; it includes history, X-rays and photos.
Problems it can address
Limitations: Some issues develop between visits, so regular checkups matter.
