Black Triangle Closure
Close the shadows between your teeth.
Black triangles make a smile look older. We can often close them with bonding, no drilling required.

What is black triangle closure?
Black triangles are small dark spaces between teeth near the gums, caused by gum recession, bone loss or triangular tooth shapes. Treatment uses composite bonding (such as the Bioclear method), aligners or veneers to fill the space. It improves appearance and reduces food trapping. Its main limitation: if gum disease is active, it must be treated first.
Who is a candidate?
Often a good fit
- Dark spaces between front teeth
- Food trapping between teeth
- Triangle-shaped teeth
- Gaps after orthodontics
Needs extra care or planning
- Active gum disease
- Ongoing bone loss
- Poor flossing habits
- Heavy grinding
When an exam is needed: A gum exam and X-rays check that gums and bone are stable.
Problems it can address
Limitations: Treatment fills the space; it doesn't regrow gum tissue.
